Education, Training & Clinical Background
Ms Ganapathy completed her Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Stanley Medical College and Hospital in Chennai before undertaking further specialist training in the United Kingdom. She is on the GMC Specialist Register for Obstetrics and Gynaecology, recognising her as a fully accredited Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.
She has been a substantive Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Barts Health NHS Trust since 2016, with consultant practice across both Newham University Hospital and Whipps Cross University Hospital. During this time, she has gained extensive experience in the assessment and management of a broad range of general and benign gynaecological conditions, alongside the care of women with more complex obstetric and gynaecological needs.
Prior to her consultant appointment, Ms Ganapathy worked across several leading London teaching hospitals, including Barnet General Hospital, North Middlesex University Hospital, Queen’s Hospital, and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. Her training included general gynaecology, complex labour ward management, high-risk obstetrics, emergency gynaecology, and operative care, providing a broad clinical foundation that continues to inform her practice today.
In addition to her NHS consultant work, Ms Ganapathy has gained valuable experience within private healthcare settings in India and the Middle East.
